Love a challenge? Join the 5km Valentine’s Day race

The run takes place virtually between 05:00 and 23:00.

FEBRUARY is the month of love and this Valentine’s Day, there is a perfect race for runners who love a challenge.

The Absa Run Your City (RYC) Series offers runners a chance to show their love for running by taking on ‘The LOVE for Running 5K’ Strava Challenge.

Managing director of Stillwater Sports and founder of the Absa RYC Series, Michael Meyer said participants can take up the challenge between 05:00 and 23:00.

“Runners need to complete their 5km run/walk within this time period. Remember to share your experience, pictures and routes to the RYC Series Strava Club page to go into a lucky draw. A pair of magnificent PUMA NITRO running shoes is up for grabs,” said Meyer.

“It’s a fun way to kickstart the year. We are proud to provide a platform for runners, both loyal and new, to connect with one another as we build a stronger, healthier, and more active RYC Series running community, so grab your significant other, family members and/or friends and join us for ‘The LOVE of Running 5K’ on Monday 14 February 2022,” he said.

To join the challenge, runners will need to create a Strava account and join the RYC Series Running Club on Strava.

The Absa RUN YOUR CITY DURBAN 10K Date will take place on Sunday, July 10. Entries open on Tuesday, March 8.
