The suspects are expected to appear at the Durban Magistrate’s Court soon.

THREE suspects, aged between 18 and 21, were recently arrested for aggravated robbery in Durban.

According to Captain Muzi Maphumulo, from Durban Central SAPS, the police received information about a group of criminals who were targeting the public near The Workshop Shopping Centre.

“Reports suggested the suspects would travel in from the nearby townships and would gather near The Workshop and rob people,” he said.

Maphumulo added that the suspects also targeted pedestrians at Gugu Dlamini Park before they moved on to the bus terminal near The Workshop.

“This information was circulated among our members, who set up a tactical operation with members from Durban Central SAPS and the National POP intervention team,” he said.
