Man killed in Durban CBD

The motive for the shooting is unclear at this stage.

A MAN (35) was shot and killed on Anton Lembede (Smith) street on Friday, December 17.

Emer-G-Med Paramedics spokesperson, Kyle Van Reenen said they rushed to the scene at approximately 19:00.

“Emer-G-Med paramedics were called to assist Metro Police on the scene of an armed robbery and shooting incident,” he said.

“A male approximately 35 years of age, was found to have sustained fatal gunshot wounds and was declared dead on arrival of paramedics. The motive for the shooting is speculated to be that of an armed robbery, however the South African Police Services were in attendance and will be conducting the necessary investigation accordingly,” said Van Reenen. 

The Berea Mail reached out to SAPS for comment, however, they did not send their comment at the time this article was published.
