Police cut the tape and powder cocaine weighing 0.94 kilogram with a street value of R282 000 was found. Preliminary police investigations revealed that the drugs were destined to be delivered to a 41-year-old man who was also arrested at a   Durban Hotel.

Both suspects are due to appear in the Verulam Magistrates’ Court today, 24 January 2014.

“I am pleased with the successes thus far but am aware that we still have a long way to go. Our members are motivated and positive and are doing their utmost to cripple the drug trade in the province. If we continue at this rate, we can attain our goal of a drug free society”, said Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni, the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner.
