SPCA charity shop needs your support

After brief stints at La Lucia Mall and Sunningdale Shopping Centre for a few months, marketing manager for the SPCA, Tanya Fleischer said she was delighted with the move.

THE Durban & Coast SPCA is urging residents to support its charity shop which earlier this year found a permanent home at the Sunningdale Shopping Centre.

After brief stints at La Lucia Mall and Sunningdale Shopping Centre for a few months, marketing manager for the association, Tanya Fleischer said she was delighted with the move.

“We’ve been unable to host our monthly markets and this pop-up shop, now a permanent charity shop, has given us an opportunity to raise funds that we would have lost out on. The recent KZN unrest also meant we had to close our doors for almost a week. We have been at our new premises since March and we are urging residents to support us and spread the word if you didn’t know about our new permanent home.

“The new shop is situated on the third floor of the centre next to the Kalamata Kouzina restaurant. We have a number of items up for sale at the shop including antiques, jewellery, books and clothes that we don’t sell at our shop in our Springfield Park premises. We really hope to see more residents come out and support us,” she explained.

She added that the shop was unable to accept large amounts of donations due to space constraints and urged residents to consider dropping off items at the SPCA premises in Springfield Park.

The shop is open from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00. On Saturdays the shop is open from 09:00 to 15:00 and on Sundays from 09:00 to 13:00.
