Usave Beatrice Street reopens after looting

The group has also distributed thousands of food hampers following the unrest and made an initial R1-million donation to its Act For Change Fund.

DESPITE the chaos of the recent unrest in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng, The Shoprite Group managed to re-open its doors after its temporary closure.

The Shoprite Group said in a statement it continues to work around the clock to restock and rebuild affected stores, including Usave Beatrice Street.

“It is thanks to the group’s employees who went the extra mile and helped with clean-up operations, despite trying conditions that its Beatrice Street supermarket could re-open in record time,” said the supermarket group.
