Suspect shot in Durban CBD during attempted robbery
A suspect came off second best when he attempted to rob a man of his cellphone in Durban CBD.
SHOTS were fired during an attempted robbery on Johannes Nkosi Street (Alice Street) on Monday, August, 2.
Spokesperson for Emer-G-Med Paramedics, Kyle Van Reenen said a suspect came off second best when he attempted to rob a man of his cellphone.

“The thirty seven year old motorist was parked in traffic in Alice Street when he was approached by a group of men. The suspects pulled the victim’s drivers door open and attempted to stab him whilst grabbing his phone. The quick thinking victim fired a shot in defense of his life, striking one of the men in his leg. His accomplices then fled on foot, abandoning him on scene,” said Van Reenen.
According to Van Reenen, the suspect was attended to by KZN provincial EMS, before being taken to hospital under police guard.

“The victim was treated for mild shock related symptoms and taken to hospital for further care. The South African Police Services were in attendance and will be conducting the necessary investigation accordingly,” added Reenen.
Durban Central SAPS did not send their comment at the time this article was published.
