“This clean up activity took place at the weekend (July 17 and 18), with the aim to restore and rebuild our beautiful and diverse city. Volunteers were out in numbers, approximately 150 volunteers, on both days, answered the plea to clean the streets due to the aftermath of the destructive events that hit the shores of our city in the past week,” said Gonya.

In its efforts to help clean up the affected areas, Durban Global Shapers hosted a clean up initiative at the weekend.

This initiative formed part of an Emergency Response Plan that the Durban Global Shapers are planning to rollout in eThekwini which is aimed at corroborating the municipality’s efforts in restoring and rebuilding this city to its former glory.

“This proved a lot of love and devotion to create change in our very own city. The mission of Durban Global Shapers is to change, build and inspire and the volunteers accomplished this,” he said.
