Durban taxis back in operation

The taxis weren’t operating due to ongoing protests in the province. 

TAXIS in KZN have resumed with its services from today, July 14. This follows the decision made by The South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) in KZN.

According to Santaco secretary, Sfiso Shangase, the taxi industry held a meeting at the Chesterville Rank, in Durban, to discuss plans with taxi drivers to intervene and stop the looting and violence happening in KZN.

They also discussed embarking on a clean-up around the city this morning.

The taxis weren’t operating due to ongoing protests in the province. 

Shangase added, “The taxi industry in KZN has decided to return to work with immediate effect. The Hlokomela members are currently assessing the situation and cleaning the ranks to resume work.”
