Police appeal for information on rape, kidnapping case in Durban

Police believe the men can assist in solving a case of kidnapping and rape committed at the Workshop bus terminals in Durban.

DETECTIVES from the Durban Central Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit is appealing for information on the whereabouts of the men pictured in the identikits.

Police believe the men can assist in solving a case of kidnapping and rape committed at the Workshop bus terminals in Durban.

Commenting on the case, Colonel Thembeka Mbele, said it is alleged that on 21 April, at about 15:30, a 35-year-old victim was waiting for a bus to Inanda Township when two unknown men jumped out of a white VW Polo and asked for the time. 

 

 

“She told them and they left. A few minutes later, the same vehicle reversed to the victim and three unknown males forcefully grabbed her. Inside the vehicle were three other males. They drove to place unknown to the victim where they all raped her. They then put her inside the vehicle boot and dropped her in the Inanda area. Her cell phone, wallet with cash and bank cards were also taken,” said Mbele.

“We appeal to anyone who may have information regarding the males in the attached pictures to contact the investigating officer Detective Sergeant Cele on 083 3001 371 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111,” she said.
