Man shot at shopping centre in Windemere

The suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction, said Kyle Van Reenen of EMER-G-MED Paramedics.

A MAN was shot at a shopping centre in Windemere at about 11.30am today (Thursday, 22 April. 

Spokesperson for EMER-G-MED Paramedics, Kyle Van Reenen said reports from the scene indicate the victim was shot in an attempted armed robbery.

“One male (34) sustained a gunshot wound to his right leg in an alleged armed robbery incident as he was exiting a bank at the shopping centre. He was treated and stabilised on the scene before being taken to a local hospital for further treatment,” he said.

According to Van Reenen, no arrests were made on the scene.

“There were allegedly two suspects involved, but no arrests were made. The suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction,” he said.

Van Reenen said the Durban Central SAPS were on the scene investigating further.
