CROW becomes temporary nest for two rescued birds
The organisation believes both birds will make a full recovery in the next few weeks.
THE Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) has become the temporary home for two injured birds, a Trumpeter Hornbill and a Kingfisher.
The Kingfisher was dropped off at the local non-profit organisation after it is believed to have suffered a concussion.

“He is being kept in a quiet place to reduce stress and is being fed a steady and nutritious diet,” said CROW’s spokesman, Alexandra Kögl.
“We have full hope that he will make a full recovery.”
The trumpeter hornbill was found in Salt Rock and was taken to the centre as it showed signs of gastrointestinal stress.

“We believe he might have eaten something wrong, causing listlessness and runny stools. He is being nursed back to health with regular antibiotic injections and a nutritious diet and should be back in the wild in a matter of weeks,” said Kögl.
Trumpeter hornbills are omnivorous and eat both insects and fruit.
“This little trumpeter is more than well on his way to taking to the skies again and filling the days with screaming baby sounds,” she said.
