Drugs worth more than R200 000 seized by Durban police

The suspect is still being sought by police and an enquiry regarding the recovered drugs was opened at Point SAPS. 

DRUGS worth more than R200 000 were seized by police officers from the Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit last week.

According to Capt Nqobile Gwala from provincial SAPS, on 26 March, police officers conducted an operation in one of the flats in the Point area, following up on information on drugs that were kept in the flat for distribution.

“The team converged on the premises and a search was conducted. During the search, the police recovered 2488 ecstasy tablets and 408.3 grams of cocaine powder. The total value of the recovered drugs is R292 185,” she said.
The suspect is still being sought by police. An enquiry regarding the recovered drugs was opened at Point SAPS.
