Vandalism leads to temporary water cuts in Durban

According to the municipality, technicians are on the ground to fast track the repair of this damaged valve, which we hope will be fixed in the next two hours.

AN act of vandalism at the Montville Reservoir site in Cato Manor has resulted in temporary water shortages in Durban central and surrounding areas. 

“The interruption is as a result of vandalism on the main outlet valves at Montville Reservoir site in Cato Manor, that supplies water to most parts of the CBD and neighbouring areas,” said the eThekwini Municipality in a statement.

“The city is concerned about acts of sabotage to its infrastructure and are therefore calling upon the public to help the city to nip this unlawful conduct in the bud. Technicians are on the ground to fast track the repair of this damaged valve, which we hope it will be fixed in the next two hours. The municipality sincerely apologies for the inconvenience this has caused to its stakeholders.”
