New single for Durban muso

The single came from a place of thinking what it would be like to be a famous musician; having lots of video views, fans singing along to his music and hitting the ‘pop charts’.

WANTING a piece of fame is the theme around Durban singer, Bradley Grey’s new pop hit, Fame.

He said the single came from a place of thinking what it would be like to be a famous musician; having lots of video views, fans singing along to his music and hitting the ‘pop charts’.

This is every aspiring musician’s dream.

On the back of the successful release of his debut single, Don’t Stop The Music last November, Grey’s Fame is about making the dream happen.

Backed by a striking music video, the new single will no doubt make waves in the SA music scene with its release to radio and digital platforms.

“I like to write about things that inspire me. The day I started working on Fame was the same day we got signed to renowned recording label ‘Just Music’, a label I have followed most of my professional music career. Overwhelmed with the news, I had to sit down and write about it!” said Grey.

Grey and his band members, Ryan De Beer and Steve Murray are Durban boys, born and raised.

All three are well rounded, experienced musicians, who live and breathe the music they create.

Their music, all self-penned, is an intimate insight into their unique sound and this is what makes the band so promising.

Their sound cannot be described in one music genre, but rather are experiments with a mix of pop, alternative, adult contemporary, electronic and dance.

Their live performances are energetic, polished and authentic. Catchy hooks, beautiful melodies and meaningful lyrics keeps fans and audiences wanting more.

The band members were inspired by modern songwriters and performers such as Coldplay, Jon Bellion and Ryan Tedder, and their goal is to communicate the passion with which they approach music and the art of songwriting.

Ryan De Beer Bradley Grey and Steve Murray make up the band.

“We have been so fortunate to play some amazing shows in and around Durban, and share the stage with some incredible South African and international acts.”

“We have a deep passion for our music and performing live, it’s such a highlight when we start playing a song and the crowd sing along after the first verse. Our goal is to go national and become the next big Durban export! So many great artists have come from Durbs and we will be waving the flag high,” said Grey.

The band dropped their debut single and lyric video Don’t Stop the Music, last November, and was the support act to Prime Circle at the 2020 Marriott Ballito Beats music series concert on 8 March at the Sugar Rush Park.

They were also due to perform at Splashy Fen this year, however this was cancelled due to lockdown.
