Armed robbers target Glenwood children’s home

AN armed robbery occurred at a children’s home in Clark Road, Glenwood, today, Wednesday, 16 September.

According to Capt Pumzile Makaula from Umbilo SAPS, at around 6.30am, four men arrived in a white VW polo and derailed the driveway gate.

“They pointed a firearm at the security officer and took his cellphone and the keys for the premises, together with remotes and panic button,” she said.

Makaula said the men didn’t gain access to the building, as it was suspected they were distracted and had to leave.

She said the security officer confirmed three of the suspects were armed.

No injuries were reported.
