Brighton Beach police seek information on rape and assault case  

A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by one of the suspects while her 14-year-old sister was stabbed in the hand.

BRIGHTON Beach Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) is appealing to the community for assistance with regards to the whereabouts of two male detectives who could assist in a rape and assault case they are currently investigating.

According to police spokesperson, Capt Nqobile Gwala, it is alleged that in Cato Crest on 11 April at 2am, two girls were asleep with their mother when they were awoken by two men who threatened them with a knife.

“A 15-year-old was allegedly raped by one of the suspects while her 14-year-old sister was stabbed in the hand. The suspects fled the scene after the incident,” said Gwala.

She said anyone who can assist the police with the investigation is requested to contact Det Sgt Samantha Fynn on 082 418 1264 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
