EDITOR – Well done on your landslide win Nicole Graham. My question to you is: we voted you in what can we expect in return.
I am asking this question as your predecessors over the years accomplished very little, if anything at all. We, as residents of Stanley Road have been trying for years now, especially crime wise, to clean up our area.
A servitude in Stanley Road leading down towards Gower Road needs to be closed permanently. My maid was murdered there on 21 July 2008, (nothing has been done since then) this is also a place for people to smoke dagga (which we have witnessed), as a public toilet, and drinking in public! This area’s becoming a dumping ground and overgrown with foliage.
Vagrants need to be removed from a vacant overgrown plot at the top end of Birkenhead Road, where they keep their stolen goods until they can sell them. We had cable theft on 25th September and are still waiting for the Umbilo Police to come and investigate!
In Bartle Road (next to Bartel Bar) a wide verge which is becoming a Truck Stop/Parking Area with a trailer that has been parked for some time (longer than two weeks) and the municipality has actually cut the grass around this trailer!
