Decorate a tree and win

It’s competition time again for all businesses along Helen Joseph Road.

BUSINESSES along Helen Joseph Road and schools in the area are encouraged to enter the Bulwer Safety and Urban Regeneration Forum’s (BSURF) Christmas competition.

Heather Roos from BSURF said businesses are encouraged to get into the festive mood and get involved in bringing a festive feeling into the area, by decorating their own building premises.

Schools in the area will be making decorations and adopting a tree along the road and decorating that tree for the festive season.

The school who wins for the best decorated tree and the business which is decorated the best will each get a floating trophy to keep displayed in the school or business until the next competition at the end of 2020.

If any family wants to adopt a tree to support a school in the community, theyare welcome to do so. Their family name (if they want) can go on tree deco with the school of their choice. If their tree wins, they will be part of handing the trophy over on a selected date to the winning school.

Schools taking part will need to have their own step ladder, hammer, nails, fabric to wrap trees, home made decorations, string, and drawing pins to attach decorations to fabric. The decorations must be weather proof. Schools will need to remove the decorations around 10 or 12 January.

If anyone wants to get involved, contact Heather on 062 267 6535.
