Durban SAPS investigate beachfront double murder

The bodies of a man and a woman were discovered on the sand dunes near Suncoast Casino.

DURBAN Central Police are investigating the murder of a man and woman whose bodies were discovered in the sand dunes near Suncoast Casino on Monday, 18 November.

According to reports, a plastic and cardboard seller discovered the bodies of the couple who had been stabbed multiple times. A knife was still embedded in the man’s body. He immediately reported the crime to the Durban Central Police Station.

Brigadier Jay Naicker from provincial SAPS said at around 4pm police received the report of the double murder and proceeded to the scene.

“On arrival they found the bodies of the male and female victims with stab wounds. Charges of murder were opened for investigation,” he said.

According to reports the woman has been identfied as a 50-year-old mother of three from Chatsworth. The man is believed to have been 24 years old.

The woman’s family said they had last heard from her around lunch-time on Monday. The victims’ families are uncertain about the details surrounding the brutal murders.
