Police create awareness in Durban CBD

Pamphlets were distributed especially to motorists to sensitise them with regards to theft of motor vehicles and theft out of motor vehicles

DURBAN Central SAPS officers conducted stop-and-search operations and distributed crime awareness pamphlets in Durban on Thursday and Friday last week.

Const Zanele Khomo from Durban Central said pamphlets were distributed especially to motorists to make them aware of incidents of theft of motor vehicles and theft out of motor vehicles, which have occured in the central business district.

“Motorists are urged not to leave or expose their valuables in vehicles unattended. Valuables such as laptops and cellphones are the most common items that have been identified to have been left unattended and have been stolen from inside vehicles,” said Khomo.

She said motorists were also urged to properly lock their vehicles and close their windows when approaching robots and when stationary at robots.
