Durban ready to welcome rugby champs

Don't miss the chance to see the 2019 Rugby World Cup champions in Durban tomorrow!

THERE’LL be a warm Durban welcome for the 2019 World Cup Rugby champions, the Springoks on Friday, 8 November as they bring the Web Ellis Trophy to their supporters  in eThekwini.

The parade starts in uMhlanga, proceed to KwaMashu and then on to the City Hall where the eThekwini Municipality Mayor, Councillor Mxolisi Kaunda, the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal Sihle Zikalala and the MEC for Sport and Recreation, Hlengiwe Mavimbela will be waiting to welcome them.

Motorists and fans are advised that two lanes along Dr Pixey Ka Seme Street (West Street) will be cordoned off to make way for the Springbok Trophy Tour parade.

The tour route will be as be as follows:

8am– uMhlanga
• Centenary Boulevard and right into
• uMhlanga Rocks Drive turn onto
• M41 onto N2 to
• Curnick Ndlovu Highway offramp and right towards Mount Moriah
• Turn left onto M 577 Route to
• Queen Nandi Drive and Left to
• Amanzimtoti Road and proceed to
09h30 – Kwa Mashu Station
• Onto Malandela Road right into
• Qeen Nandi Drive over M 577 Route
• Remain on Queen Nandi Drive all the way
• Right onto R102 Chris Hani Road
• Left onto Riverside Road onto
• M4 Ruth First Highway onto
• Stalwart Simelane Street
10h00 – Durban Town Hall
11h00: Parade continues
• Anton Lambede Street
• Right in Brooke Road
• Right in Dr. Pixley Kaseme Road
• To OR Tambo Parade
• Via Battery Beach Road
12.30pm : Moses Mabhida Stadium
