Brighton Beach police appeal for help in rape case

It is alleged that a 16-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by two men while she was on her way to school.

DETECTIVES at the Brighton Beach Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit are making an appeal to the community for assistance with regards to the whereabouts of two men they have identikits of.

According to Lt Col Thulani Zwane from provincial SAPS, they are estimated to be aged between 23 and 24 and detectives believe that they can be of assistance in solving a rape case that they are investigating.

Zwane said it is alleged that a 16-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by two men on 13 July at 8.30am, while she was on her way to school.

“The victim was forced into a vehicle at gunpoint by two suspects who took her to an unknown location where she was raped. She managed to escape and reported the matter to Cato Manor police who transferred the docket to the Brighton Beach Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit for further investigation,” said Zwane.
