Entries pour in for Sani marathon

The Sani Stagger Marathon is one of the most challenging marathons that one could take on.

GET your entries in for one of the toughest marathons around, the 2019 Sani Stagger Marathon on 23 November.

The Sani Stagger Marathon takes runners to the top of the iconic Sani Pass and back down again. The race is a 2020 Comrades Marathon and Two Oceans Marathon qualifier with the qualifying time set at five hours.

There are still entries available for the full marathon. The 21km marathon is sold out. Runners come from far and wide to conquer the 42.2km to the top of Sani Pass and back, while others take on the 21.1km half marathon, or the Stagger Trail, which is a one day trail run with a choice of two distances – the 38km (ST38) and the 21km (ST21).

The Stagger Trail traverses a number of the most iconic trails in the surrounding Maloti Drakensberg World Heritage Site. Both routes are characterised by genuine mountain trail with occasional technical sections and some challenging climbs which make for a truly authentic trail running experience.The full marathon starts at the Premier Resort Sani Pass and the Half Marathon will begin at the Lesotho border post. Both ST38 and ST21 start at the Premier Resort Sani Pass.
