Man charged for murder of Uber Eats driver

Cedrick Musonera was shot outside KFC in Florida Road on 18 June and died later in hospital.

A THIRTY-ONE year old Springfield Park man has been arrested and charged for the murder of Cedrick Musonera,who worked for online delivery service Uber Eats and was fatally shot outside KFC in Florida Road on 18 June.

The man has made his first appearance in the Durban Magistrate’s Court where the matter was adjourned to next week for bail consideration. He has been remanded in police custody.

Musonera was at KFC to fetch a delivery order when the man, a customer waiting in line, allegedly became upset with him and an altercation ensued inside the fast food restaurant. The argument continued onto the pavement outside the premises where the accused produced a firearm and shot Musonera multiple times, before fleeing the scene. Musonera died in hospital the same night.
