Prize purse announced for city run

The FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN 2019 prize purse has been announced.

THE third annual FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN on Sunday, 13 October, boasts a whopping prize purse of R250 000.

The Durban event is the last of three mass participation road running events that make up the FNB Run Your City Series. Michael Meyer, managing director of Stillwater Sports, said: “ We’re excited to continue the action in 2019 and will be offering a R250 000 prize purse, both as motivation and as a reward, to local and international contenders. Prize money has been allocated to the top 10 finishers in the Open Category with the Open Men’s and Women’s winners taking home an impressive total of R30 000, the runners-up getting R17 000 and the final spot on the podium securing R13 000.”

Juniors, Veterans, Masters, Grand Master as well as the 70+ age groupers will also earn prize money from first to third place.

The event starts at 7am at Blue Lagoon (Athlone Drive) and finish at the Beachfront Precinct near The Bike and Bean.
Entry fee is R185 for standard entry (licensed) and R215 (unlicensed) and R850 for the Gold Package entry (licensed) and R880 (unlicensed).
