Swimmers excel in Namibia

Local swimmers achieved great results at the CANA Zone IV Games in Windhoek, Namibia this month.

FOUR swimmers training under Debbie McLeod at Seagulls McLeod Swimming were selected to compete for South Africa at the CANA Zone IV Games in Windhoek, Namibia this month.

Leshen Pillay scooped 10 medals – gold in 400m freestyle and 800m freestyle, gold in the mixed relay, silver in the 100m and 200m freestyle, three silver medals for relay, bronze in the 3km Open Water swim, and 200m butterfly.

Candice Clifton-Smith brought home three gold medals in relay events, Awande Nkunzi walked away with three silver medals in relay events and Kelly-Ann Brown collected 10 medals – gold in 200m butterfly and 100m freestyle, gold in four relay events, silver in the 200m freestyle, 800m freestyle and the 200m individual medley and bronze for 50m butterfly.
