Farewell to CROW’s beloved wildlife warrior

CROW recently said a sad farewell to Paul Hoyte, Director at CROW, who has been with CROW for six years.

Paul began his career in the marketing department and moved his way up to the role of director, a position he had held for the last two years steering the organisation through good and tough times.

Through Paul’s leadership, CROW has continued to grow from strength to strength in its mission to rescue, rehabilitate and release as many injured, orphaned or displaced wildlife as possible.

Lana Bartholomew, marketing and communications officer, thanked Paul for his hard work and dedication.

“Paul has been, and will continue to be, an asset to the organisation and we look forward to his visits in the future. The CROW team wishes him all the best in his new ventures and we can’t wait to see him flourish in whatever he chooses to do next.”

She said even though CROW has had to say goodbye to a beloved friend and mentor, it was in many ways a bittersweet situation as CROW welcomes Clint Halkett-Siddall as the new director at CROW.

Clint’s love for animals and nature started from a young age.

He completed his B-tech at honours level in Nature Conservation. He also worked extensively in the conservation field .

For the last seven years, Clint ran his own company specialising in everything to do with reptiles; from reptile education, removal of problem reptiles, reptile quarantine, import and export, breeding as well as reptile food and husbandry.

“I am privileged to be working in this prestigious organisation and look forward to the work ahead with the rest of the team by my side. Our plan is to grow public awareness and the support of the public in the organisation and the importance of maintaining the balance of nature and our responsibilities in conserving the unique animal species that we have in our country. Education is vital to conservation and we are dedicated to our school programs as well as our open days to the general public to get this message across,” said Clint.
