Colour me beautiful

The exhibition has been curated to shift the viewer's focus onto the fragility of the earth and our collective responsibility to it.

AN unique exhibition by Ilma Matthews, Haley Wright, Ali Akal and Ronlynne Benn entitled Colour Me Beautiful was opened at Community ZA, 3 Milar Road, Berea, last week.

The exhibition has been curated to shift the viewer’s focus onto the fragility of the earth and our collective responsibility to it. With the opening came the opportunity to partner with local organisations such as Breathe Ocean Conservation and Project Dog by building eco bricks and an interactive art piece that allowed attendees to donate and help raise funds. Bliss Earrings also brought some more colour into the event with its locally handmade jewellery.

The gallery has partnered with Sithanda Upliftment Projects, so take along your pre-loved clothes and help them bring social change to communities.

The collective exhibition will run until 2 November. Community ZA is open weekdays from 9am to 3.30pm.
