New Parkrun for Durban

Get down to uShaka for the weekly Park Run.

USHAKA Village Walk has become part of the Point Parkrun that launched late last month.

2017 saw 2 526 people participated in the North Beach Parkrun, setting a new world record which created a need to locate a new venue which resulted in a new park run at uShaka Marine World Village Walk. This particular parkrun makes uShaka Marine World the second shopping centre to host this event in South Africa.

According to Bruce Fordyce, CEO of Parkrun SA, this particular run it is a truly fun event and quite unique since it goes through a retail space. Fordyce was present to launch the event on 22 September.

The course begins at Marine and Bean Café at 8am each Saturday morning, heads along the promenade, then south into uShaka Marine World Village Walk Shopping Complex, right through to the entrance of uShaka World. The course then heads back through Village Walk and onto the promenade, making it a two lap course starting at 7am and ending at 9am every Saturday.
