Glenwood wins soccer tourney

This is a fast-paced variety of the game, soccer’s version of Sevens rugby or T20 cricket, with matches only being eight minutes long.

GLENWOOD High School’s U14 and U15 soccer teams participated in the Energade 5-a-side KZN Schools Tournament at Kloof High School on 2 September, walking away victors of the tournament.

This is soccer’s version of Sevens rugby or T20 cricket, with fast-paced matches of only eight minutes long and teams consisting of five players on the field. A total of 80 teams competed for the first prize honours.

Bobby Deutshcman, organiser of this event described it as highly competitive and lots of fun. “This is a sport that can be enjoyed by all. A big thanks must go to the sponsors, Energade, Umbro and Primo. Without them this event wouldn’t have been possible.”
