Fighting fear to find hope

MPUME Langa, one of KZN’s top award winning business women, was the guest speaker at the popular Durban Entrepreneurs Club to a full house of members and guests gathering together to connect and network.

She took the audience on a journey through her life, sharing the challenging areas to where she is today. Noting that, “we all have something in common, fear. It’s what drives us.”

Despite a difficult childhood, she felt loved. “There have always been these people in my life who have helped me to overcome my fear and find my way home.”

Once a trainee at United Bank she set her heart on becoming a bank manager. She achieved this under her mentor, the person who initially interviewed her. “Mentorship is key and so is diversity. Don’t look at colour, look into those eyes and see hope,” concluded Mpume.
