Countdown to Totalsports Women’s Race Durban begins

Take note of road closures for Sunday's Totalsports Women’s Race in Durban.

RUNNERS and walkers are counting down the days to the Totalsports Women’s Race on Sunday, 22 July.

Speaking about the event, Patrick Singh, Head of Totalsports Marketing, said: “Sport has the power to change lives and the Totalsports Women’s Race is an example of one of these initiatives that provides Totalsports with the opportunity to celebrate, educate and inspire participants to take action and raise awareness around breast cancer through running. We look forward to welcoming runners and walkers of all ages and from all walks of life to the start line where they will #RunUnited in support of PinkDrive. Let’s help PinkDrive raise awareness around breast cancer and spread their message that ‘early detection saves lives’. ”

The Totalsports Women’s Race proudly supports PinkDrive, a Non-Profit Company (NPC) that is committed to improving breast cancer awareness, education, and providing and offering free services to the medically uninsured across South Africa. PinkDrive will be present on event day offering free clinical breast examinations and educating on the importance of self- breast examinations.

With two fun events to choose from, a 5km run/fun walk and a 10km run, the Totalsports Women’s Race is ideal for family and friends.

The event starts at 8am and there will be road closures between 6.30am and 11am on Masabalala Yengwa (NMR) Avenue between Goble and Walter Gilbert (both sides), Athlone Drive West bound, Snell Parade North bound, Battery Beach East bound and Masabalala Yengwa (NMR) Avenue south bound between Battery Beach and Walter Gilbert.

Registration is on Friday, 20 July from noon to 8pm and Saturday, 21 July from 9am to 2pm at Gateway Shopping Mall, Expo Centre (enter via entrance 8).
