Talented performers make Berea school proud

Talented staff and learners from Berea Primary School excelled in the recent Talent Africa competition.

STAFF and learners from Berea Primary made their school proud at the nationals of Talent Africa in Roodepoort recently.

Madelein Pestana do Vale was crowned Princess of KZN Face of Talent Africa and also received three gold, two silver and two bronze medals for modelling. With that she qualified for the international competition in America in July. She also placed sixth in the senior category among tough competition at the same venue.

At the competition, school cleaning staff member Nokuzola Msimango sang Gospel and Acapella and achieved two gold and three bronze medals, and also qualified for the International competition in America in July. This is the second time Nokuzula has competed. “Last year I only got bronze and this year I sang my way to gold. I felt super proud of myself. I really would like to fulfill my dreams to go to America,” she said.

Grade 6 learner Zinthle Mdutyana received bronze in her vocal category and Grade 4 learner Caitlyn Rex received one gold medal for her Open Gospel song and a silver medal for modeling. She will also be flying to America in July for the international competition.

“Thank you to everyone for cheering us along. We feel blessed being part of a beautiful school that makes all of us feel like we belong,” said Madelein.
