DOUBLE concertos by the great composers Bach and Telemann feature in Baroque 2000’s Sunday, 8 April concert at the Church of the Monastery, Mariannhill at 3pm.
The soloists are violinists Ralitza Macheva and Refiloe Olifant, who will perform the Telemann, and oboeist Margrit Deppe, who with Ms Macheva will take centre stage for the Bach. She is also the soloist in Albinoni’s oboe concerto in D minor. The other works are Alessandro Scarlatti’s concerto grosso in F, and the trio sonata no 5 by Nicola Porpora, among whose composition pupils was an admiring Joseph Haydn.
