Rooftop trespasser apprehended

A security officer has been commended for his swift action in apprehending a trespasser.

A PRIVATE security officer has been praised for his bravery which led to the arrest of a suspected thief who is now in police custody.

A Springfield Park resident recently activated his panic alarm after discovering three suspects attempting to break into his home via the roof.

One of the suspects lost his footing and fell from the roof, badly injuring himself.

The Fidelity ADT Security Monitoring Centre immediately dispatched armed response supervisor Paul Naidoo.

Upon arrival, Naidoo noticed where the attempted break-in had occurred and saw two of the suspects attempting to help the injured suspect in an attempt to escape.

Their efforts were unsuccessful and the two chose to flee on foot. Naidoo apprehended the injured suspect who was later handed over for arrest to members of the Greenwood SAPS.

Fidelity ADT’s district manager for KwaZulu-Natal, Ivan Govender, commended Naidoo for his quick response and bravery.
