EThekwini Municipality’s deputy head of communications, Mandla Nsele, said: “The municipality would like to strongly warn residents against falling for this fraudulent act. Municipal jobs are advertised in Metro Ezasegagasini, the municipality-owned newspaper and other reputable newspapers. Also, applicants are not required to pay any money to qualify for a position.”

Nsele said residents who receive this message are urged to report the matter to the nearest police station. Alternatively they can report to the Municipality’s City Integrity and Investigations Unit on 0800 202020.
