New owner for charity shop

The charity shop in Bulwer Road is now called Bring and Browse.

WITH a new owner and a new name, the charity shop in Bulwer Road (extension) intends to continue supporting the elderly in the community.

The shop, now called Bring and Browse, was taken over by Brenda Jarvis, who has worked at the shop for 12 years.

“I am very passionate about the shop and was grateful that my son helped financially to enable me to take over. We will carry on raising funds for the elderly and will support three homes that support elderly of all races,” she said.

Brenda is supported by Nonhlanhla Mthembu, who has worked at the shop for the past four years, as well as volunteers, Sindy Ngubane and Elaine Daker.

The shop sells clothes, bric-a-brac, books and more, which are donated and re-sold at reasonable prices to the public.

“We hope to make our first donation to the homes shortly after Christmas and encourage people to continue donating items to us,” said Brenda.

Anyone with donations can contact 084 630 5263.
