Recycling delay
There may be delays or some challenges experienced in some areas with the collection of orange recycling bags.
DURBAN Solid Waste’s orange bag recyling programmet has hit a snag after the company it is in partnership was damaged during the recent storm.
According to the Municipality, Mpact, has informed the city that it will take about two weeks to repair the damage, during which time it is unable to operationally accept the orange bag contactors’ recyclables.
The municipality said the contractors have made emergency arrangements and are trying their best to continue as normal with the collection service in the communities until MPact resumes operations. There may be delays or some challenges experienced in some areas with the collection.
