Brain surgery for parcel bomb victim

The Hawks are investigating the case where a parcel bomb was delivered to a Musgrave home this month.

THE Khan family are still dealing with the trauma after a parcel bomb, which was delivered to the family home in Musgrave recently, exploded leaving three family members in a critical condition in hospital.

According to reports, Saleem Khan, who is believed to have been the target of the attack, was on his way home when the parcel bomb exploded in his lounge, severely injuring his son Zakariah, his daughter-in-law Maseeha and his mother, Sara-Bibi Khan.

Khan’s son underwent brain surgery last week and remains in a critical condition. He also suffered burns. Sara-Bibi Khan is still in hospital and due to the extent of her lacerations may require the amputation of her leg. Maseeha Khan has been released from hospital.

The Hawks are currently investigating the attack, in which two explosives were hidden in a plant and delivered to the family home. No arrests have been made.
