Valuation Roll open for inspection

Homewoners are urged to check the latest Valuation Roll which is open for inspection.

PROPERTY owners are encouraged to view the third General Valuation Roll, which has been released by the municipality, and lodge objections if they disagree with their property valuation as captured on the roll.

The city says the relocation of Real Estate Unit staff from 75 Dr Langalibalele Dube (Winder) Street due to necessary renovations, has not affected the valuation objection process.

Customers are advised that staff are situated on the ground floor of the building and will accept objection forms and deal with any queries arising from the valuation process.

Objection forms may also be handed in at any of eThekwini Municipality’s Sizakala Centres or can be scanned and emailed to val.roll@durban.gov.za

The Valuation Roll contains more than half a million property entries, the vast majority of which fall within the Residential Rating Category. A general valuation is required to be undertaken at least once every four years in terms of the Municipal Property Rates Act. Previous rolls were released in 2008 and 2012.

Valuations may be inspected via the City’s website www.durban.gov.za or directly from https://www.durban.gov.za:89/propertysearch.htm
