Have you lost a wedding photo?

Margaret Broughton said a wedding photo and a cardboard frame floated into her garden earlier this year.

A GUST of wind blew an old wedding photograph in an Umbilo garden recently, prompting the homeowner to embark on a search for its owner.

Umbilo pensioner, Margaret Broughton, who lives near Prospect Road in Umbilo, said a cardboard frame had also floated into her garden following on the heels of the photograph. The from bears the numbers one to 13 handwritten on it, in line with the people in the photograph. Broughton guessed the photograph may date back to the 60s/70s. The photograph clearly shows one man in a Navy uniform.

Broughton said she had been hanging onto the photo as she was sure it held sentimental value for its owner and she would very much like to return it to its owner.

“I can’t bear to throw it away as it’s someone’s precious wedding photo. I won’t destroy it, I’d rather give it to its owners or their family,” she said.

If anyone recognises the photo and can claim it as theirs, they are encouraged to contact Margaret on 082 464 5539.
