Daveyton artist aspires to be a master of his craft

Linda ‘LindArtist’ Tshabalala of Daveyton is a force to be reckoned with owing to his many talents and skills.

This multi-talented musician, who is a Tshepo 1 Million ambassador, poet and actor, pursued his artistic dream after completing matric at Unity Secondary School.

He studied acting at Sibikwa Art Centre and then later went on study theatre and performance at the Market Theatre Laboratory and Music Academic of Gauteng.

In 2014, he studied acting and voice training under Dorothy Ann Gould (acting coach) at Triple Take Productions.

The 28-year-old has appeared on popular soapie Generations and also directed a few shows himself, such as Hani the Legacy and Mnyama Ndawo.

“I want to use my skills to teach young people how to compose music and about poetry and acting.

“I enjoy sharing my knowledge of the entertainment industry with others, which is why I want to assist and groom passionate young people.”

Tshabalala has hosted his one-man show Books and Boxes, which is a story based on his life, at various theatres in Gauteng.

“The story is about motivation. I want people to see how I grew up and see that I never gave up despite the challenges I faced,” he said.

• Tshepo 1 Million is a Gauteng Provincial Government youth empowerment initiative designed to break down barriers for the youth to participate in the economy through opportunities to enter the labour market and gain access to skills and entrepreneurial development.
