Daveyton muso to release new song
He draws inspiration from acclaimed rappers like Jay Z, Jay Cole and Cassper Nyovest.
Daveyton rapper Mduduzi Mahlangu, better known by his stage name Mjay Ranks, is releasing his single titled Pray on January 21.
The 29-year old performer said the song was inspired by the death of his mother.
“The song is about how I have not been good after losing my mother. Most people go through this and we no longer wait for the goodnight text as all we do is pray and sleep.”
Mjay fell in love with music as a child and while in high school, he was part of a three member group called Fantastic Fam.
His EP will include six songs. He has appealed to locals to support his music.
“There is so much to live for. Every day is a new day to make things better for yourself. Supporting each other is the key to break free from the struggles.”
