Music is therapeutic for Daveyton artist

On December 26, he will release his new single.

Daveyton resident Siyabonga Makwela, also known as DarQstaMKR, makes music because it is therapeutic.

The 21-year-old musician spent some of his life in Polokwane where he completed school and is now spending some of his time learning about the industry’s business.

“I’m learning about the business side of the entertainment industry to evade a lot of exploitation,” he said.

“I’ve been doing arts since my primary school days, but I’ve started making music in 2016 with my friends. We’ve created a little crew where we rap and make music. That played an essential role in where I am today.”

The rapper said he does not follow a specific genre; he enjoys making music and will follow his dreams.

“Every song I’ve recorded is like a time capsule of sorts,” he said.

“My music is available on all major streaming platforms (Spotify, apple music, YouTube Music, Deezer and Tidal) and Slikouronlife.”

On December 26, he will release his new single.

“In the song, I am thanking God for all the great things he has done in my life and all I’m observing on GBV, crime and rape.”
