Declutter your closet in three easy steps

Get your wardrobe summer-ready by following these decluttering steps.

Sunhats, bikinis, dresses and shorts – it’s summertime! Let’s get that winter wardrobe cleaned out and the summer clothes ready for beach days, cocktail events and pool parties with these three decluttering steps:

Swap, donate or keep?

Before you put any summer clothes back into your wardrobe, stop and ask yourself if you are really, truly, honestly going to wear this item. When was the last time you wore it? Does it fit? If not, will it realistically fit you again? If the answer to any of these questions is “no”, it’s out. If you think a friend might love it, put it in the swap pile, if not, it goes to the donate side.

Freshen up

Your summer clothes might need a little freshening up after being in storage over winter. Be clever about the cleaning process, by starting with the clothes you know you’ll want to wear first and work your way through them in order of importance. Using an innovative washing power such as Personal Touch Washing Powder Sheets helps keep your clothes clean, while also getting you ready for summer.

Make a shopping list

Now that you have all your summer favourites sorted out, it is time to think about what you still need to look your best. Make a list of items that you might not have after the decluttering. such a new, cute pair of shorts or maybe a trendy bikini. Then look at what you might not have enough of… a girl can never have too many summer dresses and cute t-shirts!
