Actonville crowns first Mr and Miss Actonville

The first Mr and Miss Actonville pageant took place on October 9 at the Actonville Community Centre with 18 contestants leaving with crowns.

A total of 102 contestants entered the pageant, which was divided into three categories: Mr and Miss Actonville Junior, Mr and Miss Actonville Teen and Mr and Miss Actonville.

The organiser of the pageant, Shannon Kannigan, said that if anyone ever wanted to see the beauty of Actonville, it showed on the day.

“We made our mark and Actonville’s light shined brighter than any other. For our first attempt, it was a blessed event. There were a few mistakes but these were all part of a learning curve we can grow from for next time.”

He added that they aimed to make a difference and there was a change in the community.

“We will be working on the next Mr and Miss Actonville 2022 that will be even bigger and better.”
