HunTer hunts for more awards

Oh Little Boy won FPCM Award for Best Original Country Rock Song 2021.

The Fair Play Country Music (FPCM) Awards took place in the Netherlands, Europe, on September 4 of which Benoni’s own HunTer Leite was nominated for 13 categories and won an award.

“There were nominee’s from all over the world,” the singer said.

“Several of my original songs were nominated, with Oh Little Boy being one of them. This was a song I wrote when I hit a huge brick wall in my career. A music producer lied to me, stole my money and didn’t have the record deal in place.

“One day while I was unpacking the dishwasher I started singing this line: Oh little boy remember I am not your toy, so you better be nice before this chicken bites, and don’t you double-cross me ever again.

“I rushed to my phone and immediately recorded these lines with the melody as I just knew it was a hit.”

Oh Little Boy won FPCM Award for Best Original Country Rock Song 2021.

“This is a huge achievement for me as a songwriter and singer. It makes one realise that your talent is not going by wasted,” HunTer said.

“Thank you to Peter and Gaby from The Fair Play Country Music Awards of Europe for this award.”

She has also been nominated for two more international awards:
• USA: The Josie Music Awards in Tennessee (World Music Artist Of The Year 2021)
• USA: Texas Sounds International Country Music Awards 2021

“I am up for several categories including Best Female Vocalist, Best Entertainer and Producer’s choice,” she said.

“I will be competing via live online performance due to Covid constraints. I am super excited to be part of these international music awards as it drives me to push harder in my career.

“I am busy with several international collaborations, which will be released in 2023.”
