Faeem takes Mr Deaf SA first prince title

The 36-year-old is delighted to be crowned as the first prince.

Actonville resident Faeem Karodia clinched the first prince title in Mr Deaf South Africa 2021.

He competed for the title on September 11 at the Radisson Hotel and Convention Centre in Kempton Park.

Finalists had the opportunity to stay at the hotel for a week leading up to the event and guests were treated to a two-course dinner on the day.

The 36-year-old said he is delighted to be crowned first prince and is looking forward to the journey.

“I feel like a new person – almost like a brand new Faeem. I feel ready to take on new challenges,” he said.

“I would like to say a big thank you to my family, friends, everyone in my direct environment and the deaf community who supported me through the difficult times during lockdown.

“They know I did my best and without their support I could not have done it. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.”

The pastry chef said he is looking forward to being more involved with deaf communities by creating awareness, uplifting the community and offering support where it is needed.

“I want to be a supporter to those who also want to achieve their dreams and goals, so I can encourage them to fight for what they believe in,” he said.

Faeem added he plans to enter more pageants in the future, but for now he wants to enjoy his title.
