Miss Teenager South Africa has officially embarked on its search for an impeccable young lady to take the helm and become an ambassador for teenagers across South Africa.

The journey for the search of Miss Teenager kicked off on August 1 with online entries (https://missteenagersouthafrica.co.za).

This process will then culminate into a prestigious finalist ceremony in Johannesburg at Emperors Palace in May.

The Miss Teenager South Africa (MTSA) pageant is a platform that prides itself in empowering teenagers across SA between the ages of 13 and 19.

This prominent pageant leads in showcasing young women’s empowerment, diversity, intelligence and leadership.

The pageant offers the contestants the opportunity to speak on everything from their careers, dreams and ambitions to global issues and development.

Young ladies who take part in the pageant have historically utilised the pageant’s platform to advance their specific career paths and work with certain organisations they are passionate about.

The MTSA pageant strives to help to shape the views of young ladies to be more encompassing than physical looks and to be inclusive of other important attributes such as intellect, ambition and resourcefulness.

Bongani Ncala, spokesperson for MTSA, said: “Emerging out of the pandemic environment with safety still our top priority, we are excited about the programme we’ve prepared for the road to Miss Teenager 2022.

“We will soon be announcing various activities for our contestants and finalists, which will be lined up for the coming months leading up to the finale. We have revitalised the programme and are elated with this year’s roll-out, which will culminate into the biggest MTSA to date.”

Kayleigh Jephta, reigning Miss Teenager, said this of the experience:

“This platform allows me to learn from amazing people and grow in many different ways. Throughout my journey, I’ve gained so much confidence as I continue doing things that allow me to step out of my comfort zone.

“After winning, I’ve realised I am able and capable to do anything I put my mind to and work hard towards. Not only has winning made me more motivated to accomplish many other things, it’s an accomplishment that has allowed me to inspire and be proof to any young person that without taking a leap of faith you’ll never know what the outcome could’ve been.”

The MTSA organisation has also ensured contestants receive enticing prizes, including a 100% bursary for all three winners from Boston, seven-day holidays at three luxury hotel suites and cash prizes of R20 000 for the winner, R15 000 for the first princess, R5 000 for the second princess and many other prizes.
